LA Kings’ Brock Faber selected for Team USA’s preliminary WJC roster

Faber, who turns 20 on August 22nd, will look to make his second U20 appearance. Recording 14 points in 32 NCAA games this year with the University of Minnesota, he has shown his elite defensive skills across multiple national levels including the winter Olympic Games that were held in January of this year. 

Faber was originally a part of the first U20 tournament, but it all came to an early end due to COVID-19 concerns. The highly-regarded tournament was postponed, and will now be played in Edmonton, Canada, from August 9th through August 20th. 

During that tournament Faber appeared in one game and was held scoreless. Although his name did not appear on the scoresheet, he wore the “A” to lead his team to victory. Him originally being an alternate captain gives him more of a chance that he will participate in the tournament.

Faber is committed to another year at the University of Minnesota, and he will not be signing his entry level contract until after his season in the NCAA is over.
