THANK YOU!

I want to thank you all for voting for me and the Steelers during the 2009 ESPY Awards. Because of you, I can add winning an ESPY award to my list of accomplishments and am so proud. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and believing in me. I have been to the ESPY's before but this time the feeling was much different. Being nominated, there were so many emotions running through my head. I was nervous, I was excited, I was thankful, and most of all I was feeling blessed. When they called Ben & my name for the winner of the Best Play, I couldn't believe it. It made it very special that my kids and my mom were there with me to share in the moment. My kids are the reason that I keep doing what I do. As a parent, we want to give them a life we never had. My kids have been with me the whole summer. Being with them has definitely given us the daddy kid time we needed and has shown me that being a single parent is not an easy thing. Because of this, it makes me want to work harder and hope that one day when they look back on all of this, they will be very proud of their daddy. Thank you again to my fans for continuing to make this great ride a success!! God Bless,

  Great post Holmes. Congrats on your award you got my vote. You make it easier for me to argue how good tOSU is, especially when it churns out great NFL talent like you. It is nice to see you on TV with your kids and to read your posts about them. My little girl is my life and I know what is like to be a single dad. Good luck in the upcoming season.

  Congrats to you, glad your mom was able to be there so all 3 generations could enjoy that moment and its always great to see a player show his fans appreciation. If you do what you must your kids will always be proud of you. You can show any single father giving up is not an option.

  Congrats - you deserve this - I know you received it because of your athletic ability - but not all athletes deserve the respect that you do because of your commitment to your family and the way you live your life. Keep loving your kids and enjoy them - they grow up too fast. The same with your mom.

  I am so proud of you Santonio! I worked @ Glades Central for 7 yrs, and amazingly now live in Latrobe. I've been pulling for you since the day you got drafted. See you @ camp!
